Membership Information

MBYC Clubhouse

Macatawa Bay Yacht Club is located on the west end of Lake Macatawa, only a half mile from Lake Michigan.  The Club was founded in 1899 with the purpose of promoting and encouraging yachting and other aquatic sports.

The Clubhouse Restaurant, overlooking Lake Macatawa is the scene of gracious dining and many special social events.  The Restaurant boasts excellence in dining and beverage service.

The Buoy Room (Bar) is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a favorite beverage or sandwich from the Grill Menu.

The Commodore's Room is the perfect location to hold private meetings or small parties.

Sailing

MBYC takes pride in building upon its sailing and competitive racing heritage while broadening its appeal to a wider spectrum of members by enthusiastically promoting our power squadron, swimming and other aquatic programs.

MBYC has been the host to many national sailing regattas including the Etchells North American Championship and the Thistle Nationals.

Our nationally recognized Race Committee proved support for one-design and PHRF racing on Lake Michigan.

The junior sailing program includes racing as well as instruction by a certified, professional staff.

Attractions

MBYC holds many annual social events including the Commodore's Ball, 4th of July Lobster Boil, Pool Party, and Mother's Day Brunch.

The heated pool is open all summer for swimming and sunning.  Exercise and swimming lessons are also offered.

MBYC docks are home to 75 boats through permanent and transient slips.  The dry sail area offers storage to a range of boats and includes launching ramps and hoists for easy access to the water.

The Junior Yacht Club offers great entertainment and social activities to our younger members.

Macatawa Bay Yacht Club...founded in 1899...has over a 100 year tradition steeped in boating which continues to evolve to meet the needs of our membership today.

MBYC's mission is to promote camaraderie, to enrich shared boating experiences among all of our member, their families and friends through nautical activities, education, and social events.  Ours is a great reputation of friendship and warmth...diversified and multigenerational.

MBYC takes pride in building upon its sailing and competitive racing heritage. Its work with the Macatawa Bay Junior Association is unparalleled, stressing seamanship, sportsmanship, racing and cruising protocol...character builders of our next generation.  And while sailing is the mainstay of the Club, MBYC appeals to a wider spectrum of boaters, promoting our power squadron, swimming and other aquatic programs.

Membership with MBYC allows you access to all of the facilities and an ability to participate in our yachting, educational and social events.  In addition, the Club has reciprocity with many other yacht clubs throughout the nation.
