Bearly Movin’ wins 2015 Queen’s Cup

Bearly Movin’ took top honors in the 77th Challenge for the Queen’s Cup, posting a winning time of 8 hours, 0 minutes, 27 seconds. Bearly Movin’ also took first place in Division 5.
The 44-foot, DuFour sailing yacht, is owned by Bill and Lisa Ruoff of Grand Rapids, and they teamed up with crew members Ben Jangula, Bill and Lisa Pringle of Holland, along with Bob and Janet Standish of Grand Haven. The Queen’s Cup, sponsored by South Shore Yacht Club of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is an annual overnight race across Lake Michigan and departed from Milwaukee on June 26 and this year finished in South Haven, Michigan, a race course of 76 nautical miles.
The race included 155 boats and approximately 1100 sailors, including 12 boats from Macatawa Bay Yacht Club. Of the twelve Macatawa Bay boats, Bearly Movin’ was first overall and first in Division 5, Talaria was eighth overall and second in Division 9 and Relentless was thirteenth overall and second in Division 6.
