Winter Sailing Update

While most of us are bundled in winter coats and boots, some of our racers are showing our burgee at major southern venues.  Recently at the Quantum Key West Race Week;
Brad Faber’s Utah scored a 6th place in the very competitive J111 class,  Brad’s crew overcame some tough races during the 12 race series and twice earned a place on the daily podium. The Utah team finished the regatta with a strong 3rd and 2nd, showing promise for future events.  FaceBook friends of Utah already know how “hairy” the last race was!
Dan Cheresh’s, Extreme 2, dominated the C & C 30 class, scoring  9 1sts, 2 3rds and a DNC (the crew was probably still celebrating when the last race started).  Dan and his crew amassed a 15 point margin on the second place boat, the largest winning margin of the regatta.

And, in a the highly competitive 9 boat TP 52 “Super Series”, Doug DeVos and the crew of Quantum Racing finished 1st, overcoming 2 7th place finishes in addition to an 8th and a 9th (last place),  Doug and his team showed remarkable resolve by ending the series with finishes of 2,2,1 which gave them the win with a 6 point lead,
