RENDEZVOUS
The 2024 Rendezvous will be held Friday August 2 - Sunday August 4 at the South Haven Transient Marina, located in downtown South Haven.
- Friday afternoon and evening participants arrive at various times, informally socialize on the docks and optionally dine at local restaurants as schedules permit.
- Saturday morning and afternoon are free for enjoying the nearby shopping, restaurants, wineries, and the Michigan Maritime Museum.
- Saturday late afternoon and evening features bocce' ball, a cocktail hour, and a shrimp boil by Chefs Jon and Mary Bontekoe, followed by a traditional cherry-pit spitting contest.
- Sunday morning is free for breakfast at area restaurants or at the nearby American Legion Post which has a great view overlooking the harbor entrance.
COCKTAIL PARTY
Plans are underway for a gathering where cruisers can get together and share information about their favorite destinations and future plans. More to Come!
USCG INSPECTIONS
The Cruising Fleet Committee offers free courtesy safety inspections each summer.
On June 1, 2024 the inspections were carried out by MBYC Member Tom Derden, who has been certified by the US Power Squadron to do the inspections in accordance with US Coast Guard regulations. There is no penalty for those failing to pass, and those who do pass the inspection receive a sticker to place on their boat. This sticker might prevent your boat from being randomly stopped for another inspection while you're enjoying time on the water.
