MBYC is one of the most active Sailing Clubs in the Country with Members participating in multiple classes of sailing boats as well as the Club hosting at least two major National events every year.

Our sailing boat classes range from One Design (boats built to same specifications) to Offshore (boats that sail with a handicap system) and our Comfort Cruiser boats.

For Members that would like to learn to Sail, Macatawa Bay Junior Association offers US Sailing accredited sailing classes for Adults and Youth.

If what you are looking for some fun competitive sailing, look no further, our one design fleet of Lasers (ILCA), JY15’s, VX One’s and S2 7.9’s offers close racing where you will test your skills against committed weekend warriors, National Champions, Olympic and World Sailors. Our JY15 Class offers a fun Ladies-only racing program.

Our offshore fleet is one of the most awarded fleets on Lake Michigan and you can join a crew for a Wednesday night race, weekend races or perhaps a long distance race like the Queen’s Cup or Chicago - Mac.

Now, if racing isn’t what you are looking for but would like to enjoy our beautiful Lake, our Cruising Fleet is among the friendliest group of people you will ever meet, with several fun events and sunset cruises.

If you enjoy sailing standing on dry land our Radio Control fleet meets every week for fun competition.

The Power Boat Fleet enjoys cruising Lake Macatawa savoring picturesque sunsets on Lake Michigan as well as group social events each summer.

Boating is a fun, lifelong activity and we want to offer our Members the best environment for them to get the most out of it.
