Clubhouse Attire & Member Etiquette
At Macatawa Bay Yacht Club, we embrace the relaxed spirit of the waterfront and understand that many members and guests arrive directly from the racecourse, docks, or boatyard. Our dress code reflects this nautical lifestyle while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere of the Club.
General Attire
Relaxed lakeside and boating attire is encouraged throughout the Club. Casual clothing, shorts, and comfortable boating wear are entirely appropriate for most occasions. When enjoying the bar, dining areas, or dockside gatherings, smart-casual attire is welcomed, although shorts, T-shirts, and casual footwear are acceptable.
Clubhouse Standards
To ensure a comfortable environment for all members and guests:
Shirts and shoes are required at all times for adults and children.
Bathing suits are permitted in outdoor areas only.
Gentlemen are asked to remove hats while inside the Clubhouse, including the dining room. Hats may be worn on outdoor patios, docks, and other exterior Club grounds.
Cell phone conversations should be taken outside of the bar and dining room areas out of courtesy to fellow members and guests.
Special Events
From time to time, certain events, banquets, or private functions may call for more refined attire. Members and guests are encouraged to check with the Club office or event organizers regarding any event-specific dress requirements.
Thank you for helping us preserve the friendly, respectful, and nautical traditions that make Macatawa Bay Yacht Club a special place to gather both on and off the water.
